My Trophy Whitetail Hunt in Old Mexico 2001
By George Williams

My Passion, which drives me is those massive antlers of the Whitetail Deer. The Big Bucks of Mexico intrigued me, and when one was offered by the Grand Slam Club of the Foundation for North American wild Sheep at their Annual Auction, my pulse started beating faster. Several phone calls to FNAWS Headquarter assured me that The Laredo Hunt Club was the best to get a great Trophy with.

Hunting with the Laredo Hunt Club is an exciting experience while hunting with the oldest outfit, which hunts Mexico. If experience, Big Trophy opportunity, No hassle, Integrity and Honesty are of importance to you, then you need to hunt with the Laredo Hunt Club! They have 100’s of References. And get the biggest trophies in Texas or Mexico! The FNAWS Auction buzzed with excitement, rare sheep tags sold at over $100,000. I was determined to come home with that prize deer tag – my heart raced and when the GAVEL fell, I owned it for $6,500 – I was ready to have paid much more!

The Laredo Hunt Club is unique in letting you hunt until you shoot your deer, No pressure, and have "No Upper Limits", you may shoot any deer on their properties without extra fees. The Laredo Hunt Club has plenty of Bucks in the best open Range Ranches in Old Mexico. The Club has 60+ High Stands, Food Plots, Feeders, and water troughs!

While hunting with the Laredo Hunt Club, I saw 10 to 20 "Racked Bucks" daily! Their plan is simple – Just take Old Bucks of 5, 6, 7 years, let the younger ones grow up to their potential. I had to let many great looking bucks walk away to choose my buck of a lifetime. You will have many chances at 10 point bucks and larger! On the First Day, I saw a Great Wide Buck – close to 24" wide, high and heavy – 12 big points up but too far away. I made up my mind to bag him or nothing!

I hunted in a great high tower stand to my heart’s desire. I could have had a Mexican guide to point out Bucks to me, and we hunt whatever is best for that day! I passed buck after buck waiting – a massive 10 tempted me, a 11 Pt. with big forks looked great too! I would pass until the big 12 could return. My hunt was about to end, yes I could return, but I wanted that big 12 point Now! I passed another 10 odd mature bucks in the 130 – 140 range and then following a doe; here comes Mr. 12, my heart raced for this buck of a lifetime. Could I steady myself for that easy shot., - Pow!! – The big buck falters and falls – he is mine forever!!!

In seemed an eternity before the pick up came to get me and the prize of prizes. The Club guides do it all – load him up – and take him to camp. The camp was jubilant over my Buck – Dr. Vogt, the Club’s consultant was very impressed and very happy – lots of photos are taken.

The Laredo Hunt Club has 8 "Wins" at the Muy Grande Contest in the past 10 years, and holds the record for bringing in the Largest Typical Scoring Buck ever entered at Muy Grande in the past 40 years; a massive 187 Typical Boone and Crockett Net!

The Laredo Hunt Club has more Trophy Bucks on their hunters’ walls than anyone else! The Laredo Hunt Club is unique as their principals do not hunt and take the best for themselves. It is more important to get Big Bucks for their clients than to take themselves. The Laredo Hunt Club is the oldest of all Whitetail hunters that hunt from Canada to Mexico annually, and has done so for the past 25 years! The Laredo Hunt Club has 100’s of references on request perhaps one or more even in your state or city for sure in your area!

Meet and When

The Laredo Hunt Club does all the work. They get your licenses, gun permits, pick you up in Laredo, Texas at the airport or motel and return you to same! Most of the Laredo Hunt Club Ranches are only 20+ miles from Laredo, Texas. The Laredo Hunt Club hunt several different sessions each season, usually 5 days each, depending when the season starts. The first hunt is in the first week of December, then hunts are in the second, and third week occur, then break for Christmas. There is a hunt from December 26 to December 31, then break for New Years and have two or three five-day hunts in the New Year starting January 2. There are no high fences and all of the hunting is strictly fair chase.

If you do not shoot a deer in your session, the Club will reschedule you at mutual agreed time to return during the same season for an additional hunt, Free of Charge. The Club is here for you, the hunter, and wants you to get the biggest buck of your hunting skills. The food was just excellent, and the rooms, showers, were rustic but clean! I was impressed with the accommodations and the great food. No one in our party got sick or had an ill word. The prize for the last year’s hunters was $5,500 for the hunt and $500 license fee. Or the Club allows veteran Whitetail Trophy hunters to hunt for $3,500 the hunt and $3,500 if a buck is shot.

Guns

The Laredo Hunt Club encourages each hunter to bring the rifle that he or she shoot best! The Laredo Hunt Club does all the paper work in advance, so you can quickly cross to the border to the Ranch for your hunt. The Laredo Hunt Club has never had a serious gun problem or lost a firearm. The Club has its own fine rifles, with scopes, which they lend to hunters who wish to come on a very short notice or prefer not to bring their own guns. If you hunt with Bow, you do not have to go through the red tape of an arms entry, just drive across the border to the Ranch.

Bringing Your Deer Home

The Laredo Hunt Club will have your Trophy Mounted and sent to you, or you may elect to take it all home as you leave. The antlers and meat (must be skinned) is a piece of cake, however the skin or cape must be frozen (solid) so any ticks or parasites are destroyed before you enter the USA with the fresh deerskin or cape. The Laredo Hunt Club does it all for you and 98% of our hunters have never spoken to any Mexican authorities or been questioned for any reason. The new President Fox is making things easier and easier to hunt Mexico. Mexico wants our business!

Conclusion

I had a great hunt in Old Mexico, I saw 6 or 8 old massive Trophy Bucks. I will hunt with the Laredo Hunt Club again because it’s so thrilling. I have hunted Whitetail all my life and never saw so many good deer in one place!

Costs

Vary from year to year and Ranch to Ranch. Expect a cost of $4,000 to $6,000 "Turn Key" hunt. Remember, "The Cheaper Hunts usually cost more in the long run as you get nothing!" Most outfitters who sell cheap hunts really know their values. A few bucks are soon forgotten when you have that Big one on the wall. "As soon as you get the dough, let us know, for we have your buck!" No outfit allows the hunter with ability a better opportunity with "No Upper Limits." You will feel a lot better about yourself once you have that Buck in the wall! It’s a great accomplishment in your Life! You will work harder and be happier from then on!
